Details
Designed by the legendary Ned Overend, Specialized's The Captain Control is perfect for shredding any cross-country course. Its dual compound tread features firm center knobs that are fast-rolling and soft side knobs for exceptional bite in the corners. Plus, with Specialized's 2Bliss technology, you can run these sweet tires at traction-enhancing low pressures.
Tubeless ready tires are compatible with both tubeless-ready and standard rims. When used on a tubeless-ready rim with a special tubeless rim strip or rim tape, valves and sealant (sold separately), the tire and rim form an airtight chamber, allowing the tire to be inflated without a tube. This lets you run lower pressure for optimum comfort and control without fear of pinch flats. When used with a standard rim, the tire can be mounted and inflated with a tube.

Comments:
Good tire for the money, i run mine tubeless on mavic UST rims, a great training tire for the off season due to the versatility of the tire. It can really handle anything. I use mine for training in the non racing season!

Comments:
I have tried several tire and tube combinations over the years. None compare. In fact, when I thought these were worn and needed replacement, I bought some Kevlar tires that were so hard and heavy that I immediately put the Captains back on the bike. I will ride them until they look like roadies. I am a lot more confident cornering in dicey, loose stuff and quite happy on roots and rocks as well. Good grip and worth every penny. They are soft, though, so best to minimize road time on the way to the trail. Highly recommended.
